8:30 am Roll-Call AKC Lure Field Trial

 

Early Entry Fee: $15.00 per Hound (closes April 13, 2022, 9 pm)

Day-Of-Trial Entry Fee: $25.00 per Hound (closes 8:15 day of trial)

 

2 pm roll-call Junior Courser Test

 

Early Entry Fee: $10.00 per Hound (closes April 13, 2022, 9 pm)

 

No Day of Test Junior Courser entries. You must mail & enter in advance

2 pm roll-call Qualified Courser Test

Early Entry Fee: $10.00 per Hound (closes Oct. 6, 2021, 9 pm)

Day-Of-QC-Test $12 per Hound; entries close 5 minutes before roll-call

 

Practice will be offered Saturday after the trial and tests, weather, time and equipment

permitting. $2 per run.

Directions

 

From South:

 -75 to south of Dayton. Take I-675 (northeast) about 20 miles. Exit at Route 235 (Fairborn) and turn left on route 235 north. Go 0.5 miles and turn right at Yellow-SpringsFairfield Road. Go 3.5 miles to the Park on the right.

 

From North/West:

I-70 to east of Dayton, then exit on I-675 south. (ignore the route 235 exit off of I-70). On I-675 go south 3 miles and exit at Route 235 (Fairborn). Go right on route 235, north 0.5 miles and turn right at Yellow-Springs-Fairfield Road. Go 3.5 miles to the Park on the right.

 

 

From East: I-70 to west of Springfield, then exit on route 68 south

(Xenia/Yellow Springs). On route 68 go south 6 miles, past Young's Dairy, and turn right at Yellow-Springs-Fairfield Road. Go 2 miles to the Park on the left. The coursing field is west of the pavilion. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS

  • Your hound must have an AKC registration number. If this is your hound’s first time in the Open stake, your hound must have passed the AKC Qualified Courser test, or the ASFA certification test, or be an ASFA or CKC Field Champion. Include a Legible copy of his certification or his title with your entry.

 

Trial Hours

  • 7 am until completion. Dogs belonging to trial workers may be  nspected early, but no dog will be inspected prior to 7:30 am.

  • Times are Eastern Daylight Savings Time.

  • 8:30 am Trial Roll-call (all AKC Sighthound breeds)

  • 2 pm Roll-call Qualified Courser test and Junior Courser test

Trial Ribbons-1st blue; 2nd-red; 3rd-yellow; 4th-white; 5th-pink,

 

BOB purple & gold rosette; BIF- red, white and blue rosette. JC test: green ribbon

Eligibility

Only Afghan Hounds, Azawakhs, Basenjis, Borzois, Cirnico dell’Etnas, Greyhounds, Ibizan

Hounds, Italian Greyhounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Norrbottenspects, Peruvian Inca Orchid, Pharaoh

Hounds, Portuguese Podengos Medio/Grande, Portuguese Podengo Pequenos, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, Sloughis, Thai Ridgebacks, and Whippets who are at least one year of age may be entered. The hound must be individually registered with the American Kennel Club or an AKC recognized foreign registry, or have an ILP or PAL number from the AKC, or Azawakhs, Cirnico dell’Etnas, Norrbottenspects, Peruvian Inca Orchid, Portuguese Podengos Medio/Grande,

Portuguese Podengos Pequenos, Sloughis & Thai Ridgebacks recorded with the AKC Foundation Stock Service (FSS). Spayed and neutered hounds are eligible. Monorchid & cryptorchid dogs are NOT eligible. Late, incomplete, unsigned, or UNPAID entries will NOT be accepted. Entries will NOT be  acknowledged by mail. Bitches in-season, hounds with breed disqualifications and lame hounds will be excused, and their entry fee refunded. Hounds not present at the time of roll call will be scratched. Owners may substitute for lame or in-season hounds, but must do so before day-of-trial entries close. Please do not bring bitches in-season to these trials; just report the bitch in-season to the trial secretary.

 

 

TRIAL STAKES OFFERED

 

OPEN STAKE: First time entered hounds must have obtained an AKC Qualified Courser certificate or ASFA Certification or be an ASFA or CKC Field Champion. A copy of this certificate must be included with entry form at the hound’s first trial. Championship points from the Open Stake will only count towards a Field Championship. AKC Field Champions are not eligible to enter the Open Stake.

 

VETERAN STAKE Open to any hound who is qualified to enter AKC lure enter AKC lure

trials. In addition the hound must be at least 6 years of age on the day of the trial, except Irish Wolfhounds who must be at least 5 years of age, and Afghans, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis & Whippets who must be at least 7 years of age. Championship points from the Veteran Stake will count towards a Field Championship or Lure Courser of Merit title.

SPECIALS STAKE: Open to all AKC Field Champions. Championship points from the Specials Stake will only count towards a Lure Courser Excellent title.

 

BEST IN FIELD

will be offered both days.

 

The BOB Azawakh, Norrbottenspect, Peruvian Inca Orchid, Portuguese Podengos Medio/Grande, Portuguese Podengos Pequenos & Thai Ridgeback cannot compete for Best In Field, per AKC rules.

 

The Singles Stake will not be offered either day.

 

Hounds who a re disqualified from AKC, ASFA or CKC Field Trials may not be entered.

 

All hounds entered in the trial will run twice, in trios if possible or braces, unless excused or disqualified.

 

Stakes will

be split whenever the entry is sufficient to award two or more five point majors. The winner of the Field

Champion stake and the winner of the Open stake and the winner of the Veteran stake will compete for

Best of Breed. No extra points for Best of Breed by forfeit.

 

A battery powered continuous loop machine will be used; back-up equipment will be available.

 

Lure will consist of highly visible plastic.

 

There will be a $5 fine for any loose hounds on the field which are not in the course in process.
